(Op 20 april 1787 werd plantage Maagdenburg door Unico Wilkens voor de som van f 171.000,-- ingekocht. De belangrijkste aandeelhouders in het fonds waren Johan Hendrik Willem Swellengrebel (officier bij de arrondissementsrechtbank van Rotterdam; Rudolf Adriaan Mees (kassier; Rotterdam) en Sirach Bartholomeus Criellaert (koopman; Rotterdam).
