De plantage behoorde ooit toe aan Gerrit Jacobs, die in een uiterste wilsbeschikking ten overstaan van gezworen klerk Johan Abm Ingerloke op 21-06-1754 het navolgende liet vastleggen dat de plantage mocht nooit worden verkocht. De revenuen dienden ten goede te komen familieleden envrienden, waarbij behoeftige familieleden een dubbele portie zouden ontvangen; indien erfgenamen zijn testament aan zouden vechten, dan dienden zij te worden onterfd. Later zouden deze revenuen ten goede dienen te komen aan de Hoogduytsche Joodsche Synagoge van Suriname en Amsterdam ten bate van de armen en behoeftigen. Vastgesteld werd dat de plantage eigendom is van een stichting.
